Every year we offset our company’s carbon emissions by planting trees. This year, we have planted 3,462 whips at several of our contract locations, one of which was Kendal, Cumbria. Our operatives and managers spent the week planting up various sites across the Kendal with mixed native broadleaf species, chosen for their suitability for the sites and benefits to wildlife. On Friday the 17th of February, we were joined by staff from South Lakeland District Council, students from Kirkbie Kendal 6th Form and volunteers from Kendal Conservation Volunteers and Friends of Noble’s Rest to plant up one site at Kendal Castle. Everyone works really hard, and 650 trees were planted in just over two hours.
