The latest addition in the wildlife area in Barrow Park are two huge spiders. Try to spot them by looking up into the tree canopy.

The spiders are a joint effort by Barrow Borough Council and Continental Landscapes. They were created using 8mm steel and both are 1.80m long and hand made by Full Blown of Newcastle.

The wildflower area is currently undergoing a major regeneration. This includes the installation of picnic benches, new pathways, sowing different types of wild flower seed and the creation of a Bug Hotel.

The Bug Hotel was completed in March and was built by two staff from Continental Landscapes as a voluntary project. The Bug Hotel features a huge metal wasp sitting above the roof.
